Author Thurston Clarke will discuss his book, "The Last Campaign: Robert F. Kennedy and 82 Days that Inspired America," on Thursday, Oct. 9 at the Clinton School of Public Service.
Clarke's book is about Kennedy’s 1968 presidential campaign that ended with the senator's assassination on June 5, 1968. In the book, Clarke shows Kennedy stepping out from the shadow of his brother, former President John F. Kennedy, to inspire a new generation of voters and shake the political establishment of the 1960s. A noted historian, Clarke was educated at Yale University, Columbia University and the School of Oriental and African Studies.
Clarke will lecture from 6 to 7 p.m. in Sturgis Hall. A book signing will follow. Reserve your seats by e-mailing or calling (501) 683-5239.
